This is done to ensure that the candidates won’t rely too heavily on Singapore’s assistance system while they’re here and can support themselves. Immigration Fraud Case Balbir Singh

A Canadian national named Balbir Singh was found guilty of immigration fraud in 2019 and received a punishment of four years of jail time as a result of the conviction. Singh had made a bogus claim that he was a cleric in order to secure a visa that authorized him to work in the U.S. in the religious sector.

In reality, Singh did not have any religious training or association. He had used his situation to indulge in illicit practices, such as operating a travel agency that invoiced customers for flights that did not exist. Singh had also lied about his felony record, which included charges of assault and thievery in Canada. These convictions had occurred in Singh’s home country of India.
