What counts as medical negligence?
Medical negligence, also known as medical malpractice, refers to a failure by a healthcare provider to provide a reasonable standard of care to a patient, resulting in injury or harm.
For an action or inaction to be considered medical negligence, it must be shown that the healthcare provider had a duty of care to the patient, that the healthcare provider breached that duty of care, and that the breach of duty of care caused harm to the patient.
