You can complain to the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) or the specific hospital or clinic where the doctor practices if you observe unethical activity on the part of a doctor there. The Ministry of Health’s (MOH) Feedback and Complaints Unit and the Health Sciences Authority are additional channels via which you can file a grievance (HSA).
Offering complete details and supporting documentation is critical to back up your complaint. The SMC is in charge of making certain that physicians adhere to the moral and professional standards established by the medical community.
Your complaint will be looked into, and if the physician is found to have acted unethically, disciplinary action may be taken against them.
Heather Meadows got liposuction in 2018 at a Florida medical facility. She received injections of lidocaine and other drugs throughout the process from an unlicensed doctor. Regrettably, as a result of the procedure, Meadows passed away from a heart attack.
Meadows’ family decided to file a lawsuit against the clinic and the unlicensed practitioner who provided her care after being devastated by her sudden and unexpected death. They claimed the hospital hired employees carelessly and neglected to properly manage their staff.
They further claimed that the unlicensed practitioner lacked the training to carry out the treatment and that their conduct caused Meadows’ premature demise.
The parties involved eventually reached an undisclosed settlement when the matter was trialed. Although the settlement’s precise sum is unknown, it most certainly paid Meadows’ family’s high medical costs as well as other losses brought on by her passing.
